The Jarvis App
Unfortunately, it never did make it to the Android platform. As a huge comic book fan, a huge movie fan and a huge Android fan, I naturally want all my interests to combine. I was sad that it didn’t in this case.
There is much debate about Android vs. iPhone. I’m not here to say which is better. My own personal opinion is that iPhones are not as good as Android phones. But that isn’t why I’m writing..
As a programmer I am completely aware that you sometimes have to write apps using a specific technology. But I can not see a technology that JARVIS would need that is not provided by Android. In fact, I have never seen a technology that exists in an iPhone that doesn’t have an equal (or better) version in the Android realm. So I don’t see why there couldn’t or wouldn’t be a JARVIS app for Android.
As a business owner I also understand having a specific contract that must be filled. But at the same time, it is imperative to maximize your operating expense. So it doesn’t make sense to me that you would ignore a large demographic when promoting Iron Man 3 (the expense to write the app came from the advertizing budget, I would assume).
I understand deadlines too.. Let’s face it.. A JARVIS app should have happened with Iron Man 2. I was hoping for one way back then, so surely someone at Marvel must have thought of it. And if not Iron Man 2, then Avengers. Hopefully they thought of it when they decided to green light Iron Man 3. If so, then they had years to get it out the door.
So why, again, did they ignore the almost 50% market share of Android users to promote to the 20% market share of iPhone users?
You tell me! Am I missing something?
Open comment to Marvel… As you consider Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Apocalypse, Iron Man 4, Wolverine 2 and any App related promotions, please don’t ignore us.
